Born in Barcelona in 1981, she studied cinema at ESCAC (Escuela Superior de Cine y Audiovisuales de Cataluña), and moved to Madrid in 2006. She has directed the works Videointerior 1 (DV, 2006), Naturaleza Muerta (DV, 2007), Líneas de luz/ Lines of light (Video footage from VHS, 2009), Bell & Howell 2146 XL (S8, 2011), Terapia de odio: lejía, tinta y sangre (S8, 2011), Memorais (S8, 2012), La máquina espiritual (HD, 2012) and El umbral de cristal (2014).
Her work is an inner and aesthetic search around the identity construction and its relation with the look, the body and the death. She uses in her works several materials (S8, HD, found footage) to explore fiction, documentary, videoart and its borders.
Her works have been screened at several national and international festivals: Cologne Off (Germany), Madatac (Madrid), Director’s Lounge (Berlín), Cinespaña 2012 (Toulouse), Streaming Festival (online), MashRome FilmFest (Italy), Another Experiment by Women Film Festival (USA), Simultan (Rumanía), 23 Festival de Aguilar de Campoo (España) or Bideodromo (España).
The spiritual machine (2012) was considered Best Media Arts Project (2013) by the Women Media Arts and Film Festival from Australia. It was shown at the Hong-gah Museum from Taipei in the spanish videoart exhibition Video(s)pain. Ana can be contacted via email.
