Subtlety in the Audio
I really appreciated how the screening on May 14 flowed well together aurally. Each work shown displayed a subtlety in its audio, an emphasis on quieter sounds such as breath, the tide, more subtle forms of beat, and ambient soundtracks. Today we are publicly starting the crowdfunding campaign for the documentary Paradeiros (Whereabouts. The film portrays the reality of forced disappearances in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) through two perspectives: that of the domestic worker Sandra searching for her missing son Leandro; and that of state agents who deal with the many disappearance cases that arrive at police stations every day, in a city largely occupied by armed groups. ![]()
